To be honest it sounds very AAM worthy. AAM is approved by an O5 typically at the battalion level. It reflects enduring company and battalion level impact. ARCOMs typically reflect impact at the brigade level corresponding with the approval authority being an O6. You’d be hard pressed to explain how SOP rewriting affects the brigade.

It’s gonna get downgraded anyway, so fuck it, shoot for an impact ARCOM. The form is a DA 638. Use over the top language like “upon noticing that SPC leviegalapon3 was severely incapacitated and had defecated enthusiastically in his trousers, PFC Fingerinthebutt immediately placed a tourniquet around the immobilized soldier’s neck, thereby saving the galactic empire from imminent doom.

AAM that meant something: got one as a PFC for having the fastest turn-around time on the FARP on which I was the pad chief at a gunnery. AAM for doing almost nothing: end of deployment, the powers that be decide that everyone will get an impact award, in addition to the deployment award. I got mine for being the company mail clerk.

From my understanding, an ETS award should cover everything you’ve done in your career. My leadership recommended me for an ARCOM, but now 1SG is saying they can only include bullets from my time at my current duty station.

Dec 30, 2018 · Also, there’s nothing stating that an AAM cannot be awarded in addition to the AFPB. The AFPB is not a real “award”. You can also receive both a COA and an AAM for a single achievement. You cannot, however, get an AAM and an ARCOM for the same achievements (exception being an interim award)

Sep 7, 2016 · If you start PCS leave in a few weeks you might need a letter of lateness memo. Our squadron wants 60 days for an ARCOM and 30 for an AAM. If you think you deserve an ARCOM, especially one that's going to be turned in late, I'd try to beef up the bullets with as many numbers and statistics as possible.
