Compared to Intel's new flagship, the Core Ultra 9 285K, the gap is 13%. Intel's previous-gen Raptor Lake is still a formidable gaming series, the 9800X3D is just 7% faster, but 7% is quite a lot in the gaming category.

Dec 7, 2022 · There were the days of 16 vs 24 vs 32 bits colours at least until the 9700 pro / 5900 ultra (if I understood correctly ATI aimed to optimize 24 bits performance, while Nvidia went for 32 bits too quickly with 16 bits has the alternative, gaming ended up being too slow at 32, so it often went in part 16 bits on Nvidia card vs 24 bits on Radeon)

Dec 19, 2005 · None of AMD's GPU's are performing well in that test, but it should be noted that while Nvidia and Intel are performing a lot better, they aren't playable either in that test. Techpower's tests also show that Intel beats the 7900 XTX even at 1080p, with the exception of low RT setting, which is not something I'd expect to use when paying $999 ...

Jun 6, 2003 · I think TDP on both CPUs (Skylake vs Zen+) is going to be similar - +/- 10% or so. There is a good case to make against Intel 9000 series - they changed "default" power management to allow significantly going over TDP (or rather, they changed their definition of TDP to be meaningless).

Oct 29, 2000 · Notably, there is zero improvement to Intel performance, so Win22 2H24 fundamentally changes the AMD vs Intel comparison in an "if you are a reviewer you might have to redo every benchmark and review you have ever done" kind of way. It kind of makes you wonder why it took this long for this patch tot he Windows Kernel/Scheduler to be implemented.
