Oct 11, 2005 · A9P and the 02 harness read differently than the A9L computer and its 02 harness with pin #30 etc etc. A9P and A9L the 02 harness's are jumpered differently between the two. You put the A9L computer in an original A9P car you will burn the computer up (aka signal return trace) and it wont read 02 signal at all. Which means the car goes limp mode.

Oct 21, 2002 · The A9L was put in 5-spds and the A9P was in automatics. We all know Ford's AOD was a little sluggish so ford did program them a tad bit more aggressively and because of the automatics mushy shifts and the fact that there is no clutch pedal to tell the computer when a shift occurs, the computer did not pull timing during shifts.

Comparing the .bins seems to favor the a9l in the spark department by a couple of degrees from what I can see but thats about it. Oct 4, 2022 · 5v reference is created out of the MCU. We are designing a drop in replacement A9L right now. We have a few test systems built and flashed the chips with the correct “firmware”. It will even work with a QuarterHorse as it won’t know the difference. Next step is to make a “high end” version with new MCU that is faster and more options.

Oct 10, 2018 · I’ve got a Factory Five Cobra that currently runs on the stock A9L Engine is 347 with red tops and a Pro M 90mm mass air and Accufab 75mm TB. Car runs great but I have noticed it runs better when first started and cold. I’d like to have it tuned but will consider swapping to a different engine management system.

Sep 15, 2012 · Bringing this up from the dead, as it was linked from another forum - the X3Z is essentially the A9L family with some unique programming. Nothing fancy. It is a simple thing to load an A9L tune to an X3Z and then tune just like a normal A9L. Easier to go that route than to try to find all the unique items in the X3Z tune.
