Is an i7-9700k a decent upgrade choice in 2024? : r/PcBuild - Reddit
Feb 5, 2024 · Looking to upgrade my CPU and then probably my graphics card later on. I'm currently running a ASUS 310 1151 motherboard with an i3-9100f and a GTX 1650 card and 8GB DDR4 RAM. I don't really want to change out the motherboard due to not really being that technically involved, but I'm willing to take a shot at upgrading my CPU/GC. I've been looking at an i7-9700k as it is compatible with my ...
Will an i7-9700K bottleneck an RTX 4070 Ti? : r/buildapc - Reddit
Jan 10, 2023 · Just did this upgrade. First bought the 4070ti and got maybe 25% better fps. This puzzled me. Removed the 9700k with mobo, Went and got z790 with 13700kf. This tripled my fps in Warhammer 3 from 50 to almost 150. Cod went from a stuttery mess to 140-160fps. The 4070ti wasn't just bottlenecked, it was severely chocked. The old platforms can't pull modern GPUs.
My 9700k ain’t boosting to 4.9ghz : r/intel - Reddit
The only time the stock 9700k will boost to 4.9Ghz is if 1 or 2 cores are under load ONLY. If 3 or 2-4 cores are, it will drop to 4.8Ghz, and if all 8 are loaded it will go to 4.6Ghz (which is what you saw). I strongly recommend never using profiles for overclocking as they generally overvolt like crazy since they are generic profiles. If you would like to try a basic, but likely stable, 5Ghz ...
Should I upgrade my 9700K to accommodate a 7800xt? - Reddit
between a 9700k and a 9900k, there is very little difference in 1440p gaming, if you want real upgrade, you need to change your mobo.
Will an I7-9700K bottleneck a 4080? : r/buildapc - Reddit
Nov 5, 2022 · I have a 9700k and a 4080 and the answer is yes - at resolutions lower than 4K. It might still at 4K but I haven’t tested it yet. See below for more details. -I ran Battlefield 2042 at 1440p using r/OptimizedGaming settings and my CPU was at 100% while my GPU was at 70ish%. The performance increase from a 3080 was noticeable but pretty modest.
Does a 4060 bottleneck a i7-9700K? : r/pcmasterrace - Reddit
Jan 8, 2024 · A 9700k has a gen3.0 slot and the 4060 has just 8x pciexpress lanes, but even with those limitations it would still be heaps faster. And it should be ok with that GPU and push proper frames.
Resizable Bar support for 9700k? : r/intel - Reddit
Hello, I have a RTX 3090 and I've just heard about this feature that allows a higher buffer of vram for the CPU to access resulting in better performance with RTX 30 series cards. I have a MSI MPG z390 Gaming Pro Carbon AC motherboard, which supports resizable bar, but I've heard that this feature is only available for the 9900k, not the 9700k.
Is i7 9700k a good cpu in 2022? : r/buildapc - Reddit
Jan 9, 2022 · The 9700k was an interesting product. Intel decided to ditch hyperthreading on this chip. So it has 8 full cores. I think it comes down to how you use your PC. It is definitely sufficient for gaming and even streaming. I think the more multi-tasking you do, the more this CPU will become a problem in the future. More games are utilizing multiple ...
What is the AMD equivalent of an Intel i7-9700k and an i9-9900k?
May 5, 2020 · The amd equivalent to an i9 9900k is the ryzen 7 3800x. There really isn't an equivalent to the 9700k because all of the ryzen 3000 have hyperthreading. If anything the ryzen 5 3600 probably has the closest mulitcore performance. A ryzen 9 3900x far exceeds the 9900k in everything except gaming, where it loses by about 5%.
