Jan 6, 2010 · I recently finished building my first tube amp (832a PP) and I've already encountered a number of problems. I have managed to solve most of them, but one problem still persists. It may also be worth mentioning that the amplifier design is the very common audiohobbyist 832a PP.

Jun 16, 2005 · The 832A was intended for VHF, PP Class C operation. The typical operating voltage for that is 400 -- 750V(DC). It also looks like the grids are loaded down pretty good, so that it doesn't oscillate.

Aug 14, 2008 · If the chassis looks familiar, that's because it is a Hammond AO-40 6BQ5 PP chassis. I'm running about 330 volts on the plates and 240 on the screens, so it is a little bit more powerful than the original version shown on the webpage.

The 832A or the modern implementation FU-32 perform well as audio amplifiers. Running both sections in parallel with the screen grid connected to a tap on the output transformer should be the best use of the valve.

May 21, 2009 · Here is what my 832A monoblock amps that were previously posted have morphed into. The sound is excellent, bass outstanding on the khorns. And, best of all, it is very, very quiet, not a trivial thing with 104-105dB efficient speakers.

Aug 22, 2020 · According to the RCA datasheet, the grid resistors should not exceed 50k per section, but I have seen audio designs as high as 390k. What do you guys think about this? For the front end, I want to use the 9002 tube with a 6C4 phase splitter. I came up with 2 options.

The 832A pp amplifier with either the ECC81 phase splitter or the three triode phase inverter produced over six Watts of good quality audio. A pair of such amplifiers would have a joint power close to 15 Watts on peaks.

Aug 14, 2008 · My 832A amp is running at 320V B+ at 150mA, 316V Plates, 215V Screens, 6.8V Heaters. I have an extra 100R power resistor bypassed with a 10uF cap at the end of the PS before it hits the actual amp circuit.
