  1. 7mm TCU The Good - The Bad - Thoughts & Opinions?

Mar 17, 2014 · Just did a little research on the 7mm TCU, and got interested in it for hunting with my Thompson Center Contender. I like the idea that it's using the .223 Rem case and a 7mm bullet. It looks like this round could have a pretty wide application range for hunting, even though I've read that it bloomed from the needs of the silhouette shooters.

  2. Deer hunting with the 7mm tcu - Graybeard Outdoors

Jan 4, 2008 · Think about it for a minute: a 14-15" 7mm TCU will approach/reach 2400 fps with a 120 grain Ballistic Tip. That basically is what the 6.5 JDJ offers, albeit it with a slightly more efficient projectile. If you can't kill a deer inside of 200 yards with either of those, you won't kill it using a cartridge offering more zest, either.

  3. 7mm TCU expansion test - Graybeard Outdoors

Feb 12, 2011 · I'm also considering getting Match Grade Machine to build me a 10" bull 7mm TCU barrel with a 1 in 12" twist for cast bullets. The 12 twist is to lower the RPMs at 1900 fps or so with the RCBS 145 gr cast bullet. A 1 in 9" twist @ 1900 fps = 152,000 rpms. A 1 in 12" twist @ 1900 rpms = 114,000 rpms.

  4. Current status or desirability of 7mm TCU - Graybeard Outdoors

May 27, 2007 · The 7mm TCU users used to always be a satisfied group of shooters and just want to know if that is still ...

  5. 7mm TCU - Graybeard Outdoors

Jul 24, 2005 · If anyone has any further documentation on the 7mm TCU and 7mm/223 IHMSA connection please feel free to contact me with the documentation and I will be glad to work as pointman on this issue. I feel that it is a legal hunter class cartridge, as much so as the 6.5 Grendel, perhaps even more so, the 7 TCU has a history going back well over 25 years.

  6. 7mm TCU from 223 Remington - Cast Boolits

May 27, 2015 · Have both the 7mm TCU and the 6.5mm TCU, I did the 223 or 5.56 thing back when cheap ammo was available, but I also FL sized new or once fired and shot matches with my fire forming loads. Same load I used in formed cases. It all worked okay. Curt

  7. Forming 7mm TCU brass - Graybeard Outdoors

Apr 30, 2005 · So, I've decided to get a carbine length 7mm TCU. I've stocked up on standard .223 brass, and I picked up a set of Hornady Custom 7mm TCU dies. First question. Can I simply run the lubed .223 cases into my full-length sizing die, or do I …

  8. 7MM TCU for/with CAST BULLETS - Cast Boolits

Mar 4, 2012 · Doing a bit of research I discovered the 7mm TCU. It appears to be an efficient cartridge, (at least with metallic bullets) capable of handling a reasonably heavy bullet. Having always been heavily biased toward the 7mm Mauser …

  9. 7-30 and 7mm tcu load data - Graybeard Outdoors

Aug 31, 2016 · Surely, if 2400 will work in 7mm-08, it will work in the 7-30. Anyone have an old manual with data for the 7-30? I typically use 120 grain j-word and 132 grain cast boolits in it. I have been using 2400 in the 7mm TCU, which so far …

Jan 8, 2004 · Delete::::7mm TCU Rifle Barrel I have a buddy that bought one right out from under my bid. However, I get to shoot it any time I want. The guy he bought it from also, shot with us and it is a 24" bull barrel from the Custom Shop (about $255) in brushed stainless. I have fired it many times and like it. The rifle is deadly accurate.
