Mar 19, 2025 · yes I recommend n3DSXL as well, because of overclocking features and such, but some issues people have are with the screens, the n3dsxl either comes with a cheap screen or a better expensive screen, (IPS or TN screen) it doesnt really make much a difference, but if u had an old 3ds and the n3ds doesnt have the same screen type, it may be hard to adjust to the new one with ur eyes

Mar 15, 2025 · In terms of stability, hwfly v4 (mv1-7.1/7.2) with QFN fpga chip = Instinct NX (v6) > picofly/rp2040 >>>> v5 with BGA fpga chip imo. Since you are modding a v2, I'd suggest you get picofly/rp2040 core as it's the easiest one to find right now. Original hwfly chips are out of productions but if you can find one cheap go for it.

I wanted to try some PSX games with it, but I heard popstarter has limited compatibility and free dvd boot does not work on my model. I want to try installing a mod chip but am unsure whether FMCB would conflict with the mod chip. Sorry I’m not very familiar with all of this.

On the other hand if the mod chip only replaces the first BCT (as the original 2020 SX Core did) then the Tegra will load one of the valid backup BCTs and try to boot into the official Nintendo operating system.
