Jun 26, 2023 · WMA designates Winchester Military Ammunition, made at their Oxford Mississippi plant. The quartered circle indicates the ammunition is NATO standard. The cartridge was loaded in 2020. If you would simply have "Googled" WMA Headstamp you would have found this out in less than one second search time!

Aug 17, 2018 · WMA is apparently stands for Winchester Military Ammo and is used exclusively by their Oxford, Mississippi, plant. Which is somewhat odd, given that .40 S&W isn't a military cartridge. My guess is that they load it at the plant between military contracts and simply use the headstamp to designate manufacture location.

Oct 10, 2015 · Winchester brass has WCC, WMA or 9mm Luger head stamps. If it also has a cross inside of a circle it designates it as NATO load. Without the cross it is simply a standard commercial load.

Apr 7, 2014 · Yesterday I purchased a box of 100 Winchester 9mm Luger, 115grain, FMJ bullets. On the bottom of each casting I read "WMA", what appears to be a trademark symbol, and the number 14. I'm just curious as to why it doesn't say "9mm". Other brands that I have do state that they are 9mm. I would appreciate an explanation. Thanks.

It's also got a more aggressively crimped primer pocket, which is usually indicative of military spec ammo. Got a box "Winchester 9mm 115-Grain FMJ" with one WMA 21. What is this?
