Even Rust, a very poorly optimized game, would usually get around 60 fps or higher. Over time though it has gotten to the point where a majority of my games lag and some are borderline unplayable. I have tried countless fixes to this, whether it be downloading 3rd party programs, going into my system settings, and adjusting game settings.

Also it micro stutters quite a bit ,even while getting 60 fps the experience isn't that great. i tweaked a few settings in nvidia control panel but it didn't do much, other games work fine though.Can someone please help. my specs fx8320 12gb ram gtx 1060 windows 10 latest build note: i'm using the latest nvidia driver 388.13

Try it. I have MSI GTX 1060 6GT OCV1. I had similar problem, but not low fps. On some games i have enabled option 'vertical synchronization' to fast sync and it was better then without v-sync or with v-sync. Also 10 series gpu and pascal based gpu support fast sync (no lag input, no tear), its recommended to use it on games with high fps (120+).
