The 00 shape is essentially a larger version of the 0 shape. The only difference is that it’s slightly shorter, deeper, and wider. On the other hand, in practice, they can sound different. Although overall very similar, the 0 shape tends to be brighter and “punchier” than the 00.

Jun 6, 2022 · If you like your guitar to have more high-end then Martin 00 is better, and if you like more low-end in your guitar, the Martin 000 is a better pick. If you frequently travel or move around, Martin 00 will be lighter, while still being loud enough to perform acoustically.

Dec 12, 2014 · Although the 0 is smaller, it does have a deeper body to (almost) compensate. What do you guys think? I think the increase in size is hardly noticeable physically, but tonally, a 00 sounds so much better. I think 00 is a great size, not that much of a fan of 0.

Larger than a 0, the 00 usually has around a 14 1/8” lower bout and a 12-fret neck. Larger than a 00, the 000 usually has a 15” or wider lower bout. The body is the same as or similar to an OM (Orchestra Model), but often with a 12-fret neck.
