Visited Wigan and Wigan Pier last week. Wigan is a very nice town with interesting architecture and green areas just behind the main street. The market has a good mixture of stalls. Wigan Pier is recommended by Trip Advisor but is not worth the effort. The Orwell Centre is closed and apart from the Dry Dock the area is not well maintained.
