May 9, 2024 · My 2016 automatic had issues at 112,000 miles. It seemed as if the truck was shifting into overdrive to save gas when coasting (1200-2000 rpm 35-40 mph). When I feathered the throttle to maintain speed it would shudder like a rumble strip until I let off the gas or accelerated more.

Nov 8, 2020 · Enjoying the Taco the last few weeks now but have a concern: as in the title above, transmission shudder/vibration. Seems to happen when I do the following and is repeatable: 1200-1500 RPM, approx 43 mph, slight uphill, accelerator tip-in, not enough to downshift. I can recreate this 100% of the time.

Jan 24, 2021 · Hey, I got a 2016 Ram 1500 with the 5.7 hemi that’s having some weird issues. Truck will start having a shudder like a bad torque converter but then after will have a rough idle. Gets worse the more you beat on it but right when you turn it off and on it’s back to normal smooth idle. No codes or anything being thrown either.

May 1, 2020 · I know there are threads on torque converter shudder but I thought I would share my experience. I started experiencing a bad torque converter shudder around 40k miles on my 2018 sport. Bad as in rattle your teeth and borderline undrivable. It was the worst between 3-4th gear regardless of rpm. Shudder would go away after shifting to 5th.

When you slow down from a higher speed to make a turn onto a new street, slowing down to approximately 15 mph, once you accelerate, the truck will shudder and shake like the transmission is slipping. It only does this when the truck remains in 3rd gear.

Finally this past weekend my Son (Auto Mechanic) and I did a tranny swap. I found a tranny out of a 2016 ram with only 60,000 KM on it. No more shudder.
