Apr 3, 2004 · I don't know exactly who would make the scope you purchased, but I would say that Burris probably does not make them. At $100 Burris does not even make their own scopes. It maybe the same factory that make Burris overseas that make the Cabelas scopes. I did a little research and Classic HX Optics Co., Ltd. in China makes some scopes for Cabelas.

I don't care for ffp, but besides that, seems to have short eye relief and glass is noticeably less bright and clear than Leupold, Swarovski, Schmidt and Bender. I would put the glass along the lines of a lower end Athlon. Again, limited experience, but not my favorite.

My question is: a family member of mine has a history of buying things without much thinking - impulse buying. He's even less experienced than I am with firearms in general.

The Sightron scope at its lowest magnification range was close enough to the Zeiss scopes that there was not much of a discernable difference. However, as I turned up the power of the scopes the difference became very evident.
