NKP 765 Crossing River Styx Trestle - Trainorders.com
Mike Ondecker and I caught NKP 765 heading west over the N&W (Ex-AC&Y) River Styx trestle in River Styx, Ohio on June 25, 1983. As we were both much younger then, we scrambled up the steep hillside from the road below. Going down was even scarier. Now, I'd be more careful, but back then we both took far more chances. NS was willing to allow the 765 to go south to Muncie on the former NKP, then west on the NKP to the Frankfort roundhouse and shop area (now standing abandoned and derelict). BTW, the steam era coal dock still stands complete with NKP lettering. The 765 would proceed west to …

Steam & Excursion > NKP 765 Whistle and Photos - Trainorders.com
I was just looking at raw footage I shot in 1986 and 1987, on C&O trackage(New River, etc). Was wondering what the whistle was besides the normal NKP whistle it carried. Something tells me it was a Pennsy Whistle, but was it a T1 or K4 whistle, or was it …
