Aug 7, 2007 · Otherwise I think the design that the iMac G5 and prior CD / C2D iMacs had is the nicest one. P.S. Why on Earth are you calling it the "G6" design? There's nothing G6 about it. It doesn't have a "G6" processor, nor is the processor the sixth generation of anything, as far as I know, and it isn't the sixth generation of the iMac either.

Jun 8, 2010 · i have used both panther and tiger on my g3 imac 400 mhz with 256k ram. tiger runs perfect but panther did also. there is nothing wrong with panther its just an older version of os x. panther works just fine for web surfing and most of what you would use it for so if your imac cant run tiger which it should if its 400 mhz or above enjoy panther. at least it is an imac and not some windoze ...

Jan 17, 2007 · No, they won't be putting the new chip in Macs. Also, there is no "G6." Don't confuse POWER6 with PowerPC G6. POWER and PowerPC are not the same thing, and the G# names were just Apple's branding. The G5, for example, was the PowerPC 970, which was a derivative of the POWER4 chip.
