Feb 1, 2005 · As for your friend's 900 ZRT, I wonder why he didn't just opt to use T-Cat 1000 pistons, cylinder base spacer (port timing) on the stock jugs instead of the 900 cc option. Cost is going to be about the same considering a bore job is a given.

Feb 19, 2011 · I am thinking of converting my zrt 800 into a 900 this spring and was wondering if anyone has any idea what horsepower it would make? or would it be worth it to just go up to the 1000 jugs with the zr 700 pistons?

Aug 14, 2009 · 800, 900, and 1000 triples all had same bottom end with counter-rotating balance shaft with water pump on this shaft. Seals go out on the waterpump and wreck the shaft bearings. Happened to my 900 t-cat.

Feb 1, 2005 · the 900 should run pretty good, it all depends on what he had done, if he has it ported with a good set of pipes he'll give you a run for your money. But it sounds like you're no slouch so if you hook better than he does it sounds like you'll do alright

Nov 24, 2021 · The new 900 twin was a vibrating, raw-edged performer that was an absolute blast to ride! We used to say if you left the sled idling beside the trail and couldn’t find it a few minutes later, it had likely vibrated itself into the ditch.

Jan 29, 2018 · Stock 900 jugs (with a mild trail port job ) stock AC 900 pistons 2 deg offset crank key and shaved and opened 800 heads was a blast to ride. I know there was some more hp available with reeds/pipes etc but wanted to have a Lake / Trail machine so kept as much reliability built into pkg as I could.
