Dad is the father of Zou and uncle of Zinnya. Dad is white with black stripes and a grey snout with tall round , as he is a grévy's zebra. Dad also wears a blue shirt and dark blue jeans.

Zou lives with his mother, father, grandparents, and great-grandmother. Each episode features some simple problem or issue that Zou must deal with, usually with the assistance of his family and friends.
