Mar 25, 2014 · In an open frame gyro a yaw string wouldn't make a huge difference. Just stick out your tongue. If your right cheek gets wet you need some left rudder and vice versa. However, in a closed gyro or one with a serious wind screen it is a valuable instrument. Particularly if you want to fly straight a lot (probably doesn't apply to birdy ). -- Chris.
