Each of CHUNITHM's characters, and the songs that accompany them, belongs to one of several universes. Songs from the same universe are grouped together on CHUNITHM's mini-soundtracks, and share the same background during play.

CHUNITHM's original characters and stories encompass several "labels", or story universes. Each label has its own rules and dedicated lore, and can be identified by its unique background in-game. Some labels are much more accessible to new fans than others.
