The Winds of War is a 1983 American war drama television miniseries, based on the 1971 novel of the same name written by Herman Wouk. It was produced and directed by Dan Curtis, while Wouk adapted his own novel to screen.

Adolf Hitler decides to cancel Operation Sea Lion, the planned invasion of Great Britain, and focus his efforts against what he perceives as the greater threat: Russia. With the lend-lease Act about to be passed by Congress, The President asks Pug Henry to lead an informal escort of 70 merchant ships delivering much needed supplies to England.
