Feb 28, 2022 · My launch unit had such loud coil whine I felt like I was sat in a tattoo parlour… The replacement unit I got a few months after launch is much quieter but it still has slight coil whine and fan noise that I can hear when sat on the sofa if the room is silent, but I wear headphones most of the time so it isn't really an issue.

Nov 13, 2020 · Coil whine is way more annoying than fan noise, I can hear it through my open headphones. If it were me I'd be getting It replaced. I've replaced a GPU before due to it and my new one had none. Coil whine tends to get worse the higher the frame rate. Luckily my Series X hasn't had any even in the 120fps games I've tried.

Mar 19, 2022 · Coil whine is fairly common on GPUs, and as you described, can become much louder in super high FPS moments (like 600-900 fps) such as loading screens. You can try using Riva Tuner to cap your framerate if the game doesn't have a menu FPS cap setting.

Jul 17, 2022 · Even something as simple as limiting your framerate or using Vsync/Freesync etc can help a lot with power consumption, noise and temperatures. Even can help with reducing coil whine in my experience. But the best advice, as already mentioned, is to look into the benefits of undervolting, especially with higher end cards.

Funniest thing is when people whine about AEW but then act like they're still salty they can't do unprotected chair shots to the head.
