The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (commonly abbreviated DofE) [2] is a youth awards programme founded in the United Kingdom in 1956 by the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, [3] which has since expanded to 144 nations.

The DofE is delivered in schools, colleges, community organisations, hospitals, prisons and more, all over the UK and internationally. DofE is open to any young person aged 14-24. Participants build their own programme, choosing activities and a cause to volunteer for.
