On August 1, 2000, Chicago lost a big chunk of radio history. On that day Chicago's oldest radio station, WMAQ-AM (670) faded out - replaced with the format and call letters of The Score WSCR-AM, CBS Radio's all-sports station, moved from 1160 to 670.

670 WMAQ-AM was a 50,000 watt NBC Owned and Operated Radio station that used to broadcast from Chicago, Illinois. Throughout its historical days and memorable programs during the 1940's and 50's it was simply a radio giant.
