At the request of the Christian Radio Fellowship group, Moody Radio WCRF was licensed and operated by Moody Bible Institute and became one of the very first Christian FM stations in the country when it went on the air November 23, 1958.

Moody Radio WCRF was established in 1958 at the initiative of local individuals interested in a non-commercial radio ministry proclaiming Jesus Christ from northeast Ohio. Moody Radio WCRF is said to be the second Christian FM station to be established in the United States.
