The Victoria Fountain is located in Hull’s Avenues area at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Salisbury Street. The original fountain was removed and lost in the 1920’s or 1930’s. The fountain has been now recreated in its original style and was opened on 8th July 2023.

Many passers-by have no doubt noticed the green plaque on the south-west wall bordering the fountain roundabout. Sponsored by APPRA, the cast-iron plaque is finished in colours matching the fountain and provides useful background information.

Victoria Fountain. The Victoria Fountain is located in the centre of the southern enclosure of the Old Steine Gardens. [7] The fountain is 9.75m (32 feet) in height and includes a large, cast-iron pool with a rim decorated with egg-and-dart mouldings. Originally, the pool was filled with water lilies and goldfish.

The Baroness Burdett Coutts Drinking Fountain (also known as the Victoria Fountain) is a Grade II* listed drinking fountain situated in Victoria Park, London. The fountain was designed in 1862 by Henry Astley Darbsihire and erected by Baroness Burdett Coutts at a cost of £5,000. [1] .

Built to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, this charming little building sits on the Plain roundabout. Occupying the site of the old St Clements Toll House, it marks a historic entrance to the city and is still a prominent landmark for all those crossing Magdalen Bridge.

The Victoria Fountain was inaugurated on 25 May 1846, for the twenty-seventh birthday of the Queen. It consists of "two huge bronze bowls, the lower supported on the tails of three large grotesque dolphins [cf. Alexander Munro's dolphin in Kensington Gardens ].
