Sep 2, 2019 · I had the same issue with the mini versa straps. I was able to get it tighter by turning the Predator 90 degrees before attaching the strap, then turning it back upright. That allowed me to shorten the versa strap by one opening, since the top standoff is to the side of the tree instead of directly against it.

I sourced the raw strap material myself out of curiosity, and at any feasible quantity, they're so close to the cost I figured out that it's definitely worth paying for the work they put in, vs squeezing out the little bit of difference you could - but then having to wait for shipping (from China), deal with having a LOT extra on hand to re-sell, ship, etc.

Sep 29, 2020 · I am finding I like buckle type straps on my platforms way better than a versa strap. Anyone else come to this conclusion? The versa type straps Work better for me on climbing sticks. A little sag when setting the stick isn’t a deal breaker..... but the sag in the platform using a versa strap is a pain in the azz. thoughts....

Nov 6, 2020 · I did the DIY versa button setup with a fender washer, etc. Eventually changed to a cam cleat for one-stick use, but a major factor was that I could never get the mini versa straps to open/separate easily to attach/detach while I was climbing, and found them to be a pain in the butt. I have re-adapted 2 of them into a 2-step aider now.

Feb 1, 2019 · I took a cam buckle cut the straps off bought straps from rei sewed one end with a larger loop the other one that connects to the cam with a smaller loop I just leave it a little loose on the tree then when I get on top and go to move the step up I can just pick up on the top step and twist it the larger loop will pop off the Versa button but ...
