Nov 20, 2006 · Audi's and VW's use the 22mm ball seats. Stock Vanagon ball seat lug nuts are 26mm in diameter and the stock ball seat lug bolts (front) are 24.5mm in diameter. Just be sure that you check whether or not a particular ball seat lug fits the intened wheel properly. Some wheels fit a wide range of ball seat lugs, others are more finicky.

Aug 25, 2008 · Mercedes wheels have a 66.56mm centerbore. Audi/VW wheels have a 57.1mm centerbore. Due the large diameter of the Vanagon’s front grease cap, a centerbore of at least 64mm is required. Obviously the Mercedes wheels will fit just fine but the Audi/VW wheels must have their centerbores enlarged in order to fit.

Sep 12, 2014 · VW specified wheels with offset between 30mm and 39mm, so trying to keep the offset close to that range is the key. This is true whether it is the true offset of the wheel of the effective offset of the after spacers have been added.

Mar 4, 2020 · I'd personally go with the OEM South African 15" VW wheel available at VanCafe/Rocky Mtn. Westy. Steel wheels are stronger typically and heavier. May 26, 2011 · I'll chime in here with a tire that never seems to get a mention, but I think it is the ideal Vanagon 16 inch tire unless you have to deal with wintry conditions. On my Westy with 16 inch CLK wheels, I have a set of Falkens, model ZE-912, with a load index of 99. Size is 215/60-16. My revs per mile are 808.

Oct 3, 2012 · The reason for making the lines at 20º to the first line is that the Vanagon’s caster alignment specs are based off of rotating the front wheels 20º to the right and 20º to the left (from straight ahead) and measuring the difference between the two different camber angles to help determine the caster angle.

Jul 21, 2010 · I ideally want to install 17x7.5 front and 17x9 in the rear. Would these fit without having to worry about tire rubbing etc? If worse come to worse I have seen a lot of 18" Porsche Twist wheels that are 18x front and 18x9 Rear. Lastly I found some awesome Porsche Boxster wheels that are 16x6 for front and 16x7 in rear.
