May 9, 2010 · The V8 5 speed transmission is comparable to the E30 M3 sports transmission which is much wider and shorter. It fits loosely in position 2 in the E30 transmission tunnel. If motor position three is used the transmission tunnel has to be modified.

The V8 was previously paired with a DCT seven-speed transmission. Evenutally Phil swapped to a Drenth DG500 six-speed sequential transmission. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a E28 210 mm rear end with a Drexler limited-slip differential and Z3M axles.

Nov 8, 2020 · The V8 Swaps. All the v8 swaps into e30s have one major flaw, the braking system. The motor being so wide that the brake booster has to be moved or removed. Which adds a whole nother level of complexity to the swap. It can also greatly change the braking performance of the e30. M60/ M62

Jan 29, 2025 · Jessee swapped them for a 6.2 L LS3 V8 and T56 Magnum six-speed manual transmission using a Sikky Stage 3 swap kit and radiator. The kit included aluminum mounts, aluminum 6.8-quart oil pan, exhaust headers, one-piece driveshaft, power steering lines, Wiring Specialties wiring harness.

Feb 16, 2012 · I've heard that E30 guys that are swapping M62B44 engines in there cars are using headers from a X5 Yup, e53/e38 4.4 headers are about the same. Already acquired But they still need heavily modified.
