The Technology of the Univibe - geofex.com
The Univibe, for all the hype, is a phaser or phase shifter. It's one of the earliest of the footpedal phasers, and was implemented in discrete transistors, instead of the opamps that most later phasers like the MXR Phase 90 would use.
Univibe LDR's - DIYstompboxes.com
Mar 18, 2005 · The NOS LDR's are out of stock and /or you can find them for crazy amounts of money. Does anyone know of new (still in production) alternatives for Univibe LDR's? I found that there are still 9203 LDR and NSL-7530, but I do not know their production status or if …
Original Schematic Uni-Vibe (old one) - freestompboxes.org
Nov 7, 2007 · The LDR was driven from an active constant current source, and so its voltage was proportional to the resistance. It was *hard* to get the ranges down right, as LDRs can and do range from kohms to tens or hundreds of megohms.
Univibe LDR alternatives - freestompboxes.org
Aug 22, 2023 · The tried and tested LDR's (NSL-7532) are EOL and/or you can find them for crazy amounts of money. Does anyone know of new (still in production) alternatives for Univibe LDR's? I found that there are still 9203 LDR and NSL-7530, but I do not know their production status or if they are EOL.
Univibe LDR option - DIYstompboxes.com
Aug 16, 2022 · Hi, I'm wondering if either the 5528 (2M dark resistance) or PDV-P9008 (20M dark resistance) could work in a classic Univibe circuit, which I've read used a 6M7 dark resistance LDRs. Thanks in advance..
Harbinger One - LDR and lamp specs (same as Quadrovibe?)
Sep 24, 2013 · I built it, with the Banzai Univibe kit. It's expensive, but it works perfectly and without any hassle. I also ordered an extra bulb, just in case. I have the LDR's pointed right at the bulb. I tried both a black rubber light shield and the same one, but with aluminium foil on the inside to make it reflective.
Univibe history (+ Lamp/LDR specs) - DIYstompboxes.com
Apr 2, 2007 · Both the Univibe and the RT18 used LDRs modulated by an incandescent lamp, part of Claim 1. One wonders how the business situation played out. I can't remember - does the Univibe case have notes like "Patent xxxxxxxxx, yyyyyyyy, zzzzzzzz" on it? Is one the same as this one if they're there?
The ‘vibe relies on controlling the light that strikes four Light Dependent Resistors (LDR’s) to make its phase shifting work. Controlling the light means that you have to have some way to keep normal room light away from the LED’s.

Of the several different approaches to producing electronic phase shifting the Light Dependent Resistor (LDR) approach is IMO by far the best all around way of doing it, that's provided you can find photo-cell assemblies that have an extended range and speed if a high swirl speed is desired.
Photocell vs no Photocell Univibe... - The Gear Page
Nov 29, 2022 · The term people don't seem to understand here is Photocell. A photocell is just an LDR. You can trigger the LDR with any light source but it seems that there are differences in ramp up/ramp down, sensitivity, etc. when using an incandescent bulb vs. LEDs.
