Uig is a charming port with ferry links to Uist and Harris. There is accommodation and a number of places to eat out in Uig. The Trotternish ridge provides an obvious focus for walkers but there are other shorter walks suitable for all abilities; the Fairy Glen is a beautiful whimsical walk through a valley produced by many small landslides.

The Fairy Glen can be found just south of Uig along the 80km Trotternish loop in Skye’s far north east. From Portree, take the A87 road towards Dunvegan. After approximately 9 miles, continue on the A87 towards Uig.

Uig port. Found to the north of Skye on the Trotternish peninsula, Uig is a beautiful horsehoe-shaped bay that connects the magical island with the Outer Hebrides. Known for its bracing walks and stunning landscapes, it is a fantastic location from which to explore all that Skye has to offer.

Uig is served by the A87 road from Portree and Kyle of Lochalsh to the south, and the A855 road which runs northwards around the end of the Trotternish peninsula before also turning south to Portree.

We are located in the pretty little fishing village of Uig, situated in the north of the Isle of Skye on the incredible Trotternish Peninsula. We have three gorgeous rooms, a fun lively bar & wonderful small plates restaurant with a focus on lovely local produce.

Uig is easily reached via the A87 from Portree or the A855 coastal road which loops around the northern end of the Trotternish Peninsula. There is parking at the Uig Community Hall, off the A87, and at the ferry terminal. Uig is well-served by regular buses from Portree.

Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye.
