U.S. Route 290 (US 290) is an east–west U.S. Highway located entirely within the state of Texas. Its western terminus is at Interstate 10 southeast of Segovia, and its eastern terminus is at Interstate 610 in northwest Houston. [1]

The US 290 from Oak Hill to Dripping Springs Environmental Study began in 2022. This is the second phase of a multi-step process to determine options for maximizing safety and mobility along the corridor.

TxDOT is widening US 290 to an access-controlled facility with additional travel lanes through Oak Hill. The project will also remove traffic signals on the mainlanes, add frontage roads for local traffic, and add new flyovers between US 290 and SH 71.
