Gold launched on 1 November 1992 as UK Gold. In 1993. UK Gold received a new look. UK Gold was rebranded on 1 November 1997, with the launch of UK Arena, UK Horizons and UK Style. Another new look, with idents based on fireworks, was launched in April 1999. It was also created by Lambie-Nairn. [1]

Logo: Basically the UK Gold logo at the time, which is a white / blue rectangle with "UK GOLD " in blue / white with the rectangle formed by a triangle connection. The logo has several variants with an golden retriever interacting with the logo in a way.

A rebranding in 1994 saw UK Gold adopt idents based on the forging of gold bars, with the station's logo appearing to have been stamped into gold. Variations on this theme were used until 1997, when the channel received a revamp as part of the formation of the UKTV network.

UK Gold launched at 7pm on Sunday 1st November 1992, with it’s first look designed by Hatmaker (who also created many famous American logos including Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network and Comedy Central USA, to name but a few).
