Nov 18, 2020 · UAB Medicine has launched a new multidisciplinary program to help guide patients who are still experiencing COVID-19 symptoms more than three weeks after a positive test to the appropriate specialized care they need.

Although a positive test is not required to be seen in UAB’s Post-COVID Treatment Program, it is helpful to confirm that an individual had COVID-19 disease. Our program will see those who have experienced a COVID-like illness and symptoms consistent with long COVID.

UAB RECOVER needs to hear from people who have been infected with the COVID virus. Whether you recovered quickly from COVID or you experienced its lingering symptoms, you can help us learn about COVID’s long-term effects so we can find ways to prevent and treat them.

UAB will offer free vaccinations with the Pfizer vaccine for COVID-19. Participants will be able to receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer vaccine. Vaccines will be offered to current and prospective students as well as any family members or friends who may be accompanying them and meet eligibility requirements.

UAB Medicine Urgent Care offers COVID-19 testing for anyone age 18 and up who needs to be tested before traveling. You cannot be tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms. The cost is $125 (not covered by insurance), and no appointment is needed.
