Feb 20, 2025 · Businessman and philanthropist Thomas E. “Tommy” Boyer of Fayetteville died Wednesday (Feb. 19). He was 84. Gov. Asa Hutchinson appointed Boyer to the University of Arkansas Board of Trustees in 2017. His term was set to expire in 2027.

Boyer served for four years as the chairman of the Campaign for the 21st Century, was a member of the University of Arkansas Foundation Board of Directors, and chaired the Walton College's Dean's Executive Advisory Board from 2003 to 2008.
