If nothing there, then use a mirror and flashlight to look up inside from the bowl. There is a big difference between using a closet auger in a toilet, and using a closet auger "correctly".

What you can do is to get a 5 gallon or bigger container. Fill it pretty full. Then pour the water into the toilet from as high as you can as fast as you dare.

Jun 12, 2011 · Oftentimes the emptying isn't complete. I ran a 3 foot toilet auger down the toilet and pulled out a small clump of tree roots. These roots look like the tree roots from a palm tree that is planted in the backyard, close to the house and near these bathrooms. The bedroom toilet works fine as does the clothes washer, sinks and tubs.

Dec 8, 2009 · The toilet auger probably just goes around them if that's the problem. If you think that is a possibility, you could pull the toilet and see if you can locate the jam from the underside. That's fairly quick and easy, and it's lots cheaper than a plumber.

Dec 18, 2021 · While the instructions often say to place the wax on the toilet then set the toilet...it's safer to put the wax on the flange, and then set the toilet down using the bolts to verify alignment. Normally, unless excess or misplaced wax got into the drain, an auger should not be able to come into contact with it unless the toilet is broken.

May 23, 2020 · I pulled the toilet out (augur still attached). Found a good chunk of cucumber at the toilet outlet and cleared that. Auger is still stuck. Two theories: 1) The auger head is just stuck in the toilet bend and if I pull hard enough it will come out. How likely is this? 2) The auger head is stuck in a cucumber piece, which is itself stuck.

Feb 23, 2006 · A toilet auger might get it out, or you might have to pull the toilet off of the floor and try to push it back out from the bottom. Those things can be a pain as with the spring in them, they can expand and not want to come back out...it is a pain to get it just so so you can compress it so it will fit back out.

Jul 18, 2007 · It's called a " wash down" as opposed to a "reverse trap" toilet bowl. The latter was a little quieter and a bit more expensive. Closet augers go both ways. Both flush quite well. Auger it. Check the rim flush , make sure water in the bowl is up to it's overflow point. Make sure the water is high enough in the tank.

Aug 30, 2021 · I have a toilet that will not drain. I have a GOOD plunger, I can get everything to eventually work through but still flushes slowly and will not go without lots of plunger work. I tried a specific toilet auger and it just loops back around into the bowl. I used a smaller drain snake for my drill, and same thing.
