Jul 24, 2017 · Pair of French Empire-style gilt and patinated bronze sconces, late 20th century, in the manner of Pierre-Philippe Thomire (French, 1751-1843), the bras de lumiere modeled as Nike (Victoria), the winged symbol of Victory, with three upswept candle arms, standing atop an orb representing the Earth, unsigned, electrified.

These candelabra are comprised of Hellenistic winged figures of Nike or Victory, arms upraised and supporting floral wreaths from which branch ten candle sockets decorated with fluting, acanthus leaves, and spirals. Torches of flowers in the center are supported by spirals.
