The Tau'va is based on the T'au caste system and is designed to allow for the advancement of the entire T'au society towards a more successful, prosperous and peaceful existence in the future without the violent internecine conflict that marked earlier T'au history.

The Greater Good, or " Tau'va," is the central philosophy that unites all T'au. It teaches that every self-aware being is equal and plays an important part in T'au society.

If this entity follows the ‘standard warp rules’ of 40k it not only needs the belief of worshippers to coalesce, but also their unwilling deaths to manifest. The human allies died believing in the tau’va and that their individual struggle/sacrifice was for the greater good.
