Jul 20, 2017 · I don't know what your TR2 should be, but I believe that the TR3 had red springs standard. Here's a chart of the springs for 1 1/2" & 1 3/4" SUs. The length is the compressed length and what the ounce reading should be.

This is a Carburetor Kit for a Triumph TR3 to TR4 with SU H6 type carburetors. This kit fit both AUC786 and AUC878 tagged carbs. Each kit will come with the metering needle, jet, needle and seat, plus all of the gaskets and seals to assemble the carburetor.

Mar 30, 2014 · According to my Haynes SU manual, the SM is the standard needle for TR3s and TR4s, whereas the RH is the “rich” option. Notice that the RH needle is thinner at the tip, providing more fuel flow at wider throttle openings.

Start disassembling and looking at the throttle spindles for play.

May 5, 2019 · I've had both - SUs on the TR3 and Strombergs on the TR4 and both were just fine. Easy to tune and maintain. The rubber diaphragm in the ZS (Strombergs) means the piston does not require as much precision machining - one less thing to wear.
