TDX indeed does have similarities like the 2-path upgrades along with the line of sight mechanic (where towers can't shoot through walls). But the idea of these isn't patent, so there's no problem with other games using it too.

Launched on November 21, 2023, Tower Defense X, created by GDILIVES, sets itself apart from conventional tower defense games with its distinctive features. The gameplay encompasses a variety of towers, including air towers, sea towers, and land towers, introducing a strategic element that goes beyond the typical defense setup.

Aside from the TDS copying TDX drama obviously flaring up, trying to make a second path for every or almost every tower might create more bugs than they can currently handle. The game balancing and meta will also be affected greatly unless the second paths absolutely suck.

Look at the player count from TDS and TDX (clear difference.) As soon as Tower Defense Simulator gets a new update it will get more players. it just got one like a month ago and peaked around 25k players. Yeah but also the acts are not the greatest events to release. The matchmaking was buggy so the hardest part was simply getting in.
