Feb 27, 2009 · These transmissions were used in other trucks besides Jeeps. On the farm we had the four speeds with pto to drive the hydraulics to raise the beds on the grain trucks. Same for dump trucks, and wreckers, etc. The Cj2a's and 3a's used the pto off of the rear of the Spicer 18 transfer case to drive many accessories, including pto drive winches.

Mar 23, 2017 · Also, I see the PTO port is on the passenger side. My CJ T18 has the PTO on the driver side. Not sure if all Jeep T18s are this way. I think my reverse switch is also on the opposite side. Not sure if this is a Ford/Jeep thing or older/newer top cover difference.

Mar 16, 2006 · the T18 has a PTO port on the passenger side of the case. i don't know what the last year was that the T18 was used, but i believe that it was still an option on CJs into at least the early 1980s. also, you could look for a jeep that someone has done a tranny swap on and put in a GM 4-speed such as an SM420 or SM465.

Sep 11, 2007 · MaxKlinger and FLATBEDFORD, the 6 bolt mounting flange is an SAE standard used by all O.E.M.'s and component manufacturers.There is also an 8 bolt version. PTO's themselves are made for specific transmissions and while they will bolt up they don't ( with rare exceptions) interchange.

Feb 28, 2014 · Yes. It's a jeep t18. Pto is on drivers side. Also bolt pattern matches jeep not ford. Pulling at exactly 1930 on Friday. Can't wait. Replacing gaskets and seals and painting with POR 15 orange throughout the rear of the week. Will def post pics and any lessons learned as I go
