While the Spotify app doesn’t play ads that interrupt the music listening experience of Premium subscribers, some podcasts on the platform may include third-party advertising, host-read endorsements or sponsorship messages in their episodes. Jan 8, 2017 · Music is created by artists. Artists need to be paid and Spotify makes sure the artists get paid for the music people stream. On Spotify Premium, users pay money for the artists. On Spotify Free, advertisers pay Spotify money and that money also goes to the artists. It's important that these people get money, so they can keep creating new music.

It started slow, with the podcasts promoting other podcasts from the same group, etc, but now there are several product adds, not to mention the podcasters themselves trying to sell a range of products from their sponsors.

If it says free but you're paying for Premium, you may have a secondary account. To check if that is the case - take a look at this FAQ article over here.

However, if you're still experiencing a large number of ads despite having a premium account, following the steps above should help to resolve the issue. Mar 11, 2015 · Spotify- Please fix this!!! My ears literally hurt when these "extra loud" ads come on. I keep the music volume low to prevent damaging my hearing, so I certainly don't appreciate Spotify risking my hearing on these ads. I don't care about ads or however many I need to listen to- please just don't make the volume of them PAINFUL!
