Southern Pacific 3100 is a GE U25B diesel locomotive once owned by the Southern Pacific Railroad and is the last operating example left in the US. Built in 1963 and originally numbered 7508, it became one of three SP locomotives painted in a red, white and blue color scheme in 1976 in celebration of the United States Bicentennial .

Southern Pacific 3100 participates in the Orange Empire Railway Museums Spring Railfest, allowing the general public to take her for a run, while OERM 1956 and UP 942 sit on display.

In addition to its significant collection of Pacific Electric equipment, the Museum preserves over 25 cars and locomotives from the Southern Pacific including U-Boat freight locomotive 3100 and San Diego & Arizona Eastern (an SP subsidiary) passenger combine 175.

According to good sources, including Strapac's fantastic SP Compendium series, SP 3100 was built in September 1959, ALCo construction number 83483, as SP 4816 class DF-502. Leased in March 1960 to T&NO as 250.

Southern Pacific No. 3100 is a preserved GE U25B diesel electric locomotive. Southern Pacific No. 3100 was first constructed on March 29, 1963 by General Electric as one of the GE U25B locomotives that were built by General Electric for the Southern Pacific Railroad.
