The Diocese of Owensboro created the Sophia Award, which is an award to celebrate someone from each parish who exemplifies stewardship in their life. Who is eligible?

The Sophia Awards are the Portuguese cinematographic and film awards, assigned annually, which aim to recognize the best national productions. Its name was chosen in honor of the Portuguese poet and writer Sophia de Mello Breyner Andersen and also because "Sophia" is a classic Greek name which means "wisdom" . [1]

As we reflect on the importance of stewardship and the many ways it can transform our lives and our community, I would like to invite you to consider nominating someone for the Sophia Award.

In 2018, the Institute renewed a tradition of presenting our most prestigious award to persons who embodied our mission. Thus, the Institute inaugurated the Sophia Award for Excellence, a prize honoring the wisdom and humanitarianism of our Patroness Her Majesty Queen Sofía.
