
Is Big Bear, Snow Valley, or Snow Summit better for skiers?
Jan 7, 2024 · For non-park skiing: most would say Snow Summit, Snow Valley, and Bear Mountain in that order. Although they’re all pretty similar. Snow Valley is definitely worth checking out if you have the time and most of the terrain is open. It’s a fun hill. If you’re pressed for time and only ski groomers, stick to Snow Summit for a couple days.

Jul 14, 2021 · Snow Valley can get really icy in the late afternoon due to the slope orientation. Bear and High do as well but my experience is Snow Valley is worse. But that’s only a problem on some days :) Bonus tip: LuluBelles is a awesome coffee shop/bakery in running springs that you can go on your way to/from boarding 👍🏻

Nov 11, 2023 · Snow summit gets horribly crowded down summit run and it’s hard to learn anything. Their beginner run is very short. Snow valley’s beginner run is extremely wide and a perfect slop for a beginner to really learn turns, after that, the one green run from the upper mountain area isn’t too hard and is a great next step.

Snow Valley (Running Springs/Arrow Bear): I forgot this existed and a lot of people on other threads mention Snow Valley as a great alternative to Big Bear (Snow Summit) and Mountain High for beginners. It looks like you save 45 minutes of driving than going all the way to Big Bear.

Mar 13, 2019 · Mt high is an easier drive than snow valley and it is a better resort in general. It does get quite crowded on the weekends. If you are lucky enough to go when east is open, then you will have very few crowds at east.
