What the hell is a 'smolder,' what does it look like, and how is it performed? I am, of course, referring to the facial expression. The few times I've heard it referred to was in Tangled, and miscellaneous places online and IRL.

Jan 6, 2024 · Face issues aside, I really appreciate that Smolder is an actual dragon. What I mean by that is, while he's not exactly a mini-elder and is somewhat Disney-ified, they didn't make some unholy abomination of "Half-dragon" which is just a kid with some scales here and there and maybe some small horns.

May 13, 2024 · A "smoldering look" is a somewhat common expression. It means to look at someone in a sexy and often intense way. In this case, the character is using "the smolder" as a shortened nickname for his way of looking at someone in a seductive way to get what he wants. "Smolder" in this form is not common, and it's an idiosyncrasy of the character.

Smolder just got announced and there's already some negative feedback about the visuals. My friend (xtuzzi) made a reimagined drawing trying to fix the too-human face, check it out:

Jan 5, 2024 · Smolder Art I saw the new champion teaser and I didn't like the way they made smolder's face, and i see a lot of people seem to agree as well. Looked more human-ish than a dragon, it could be just the weird angle tho.
