Dec 4, 2019 · If a primary school currently wants to 'upgrade' to SIMS 8 then Capita will ask how the school currently uses SIMS 7 so they can advise if they'd be a suitable candidate to switch. I think that tells you all you need to know about it's 'out of the box' readiness for primary schools. SIMS 8 for secondary schools is even further down the line.

Mar 26, 2019 · I've used SIMS extensively for over a decade and watched it slowly evolve into a far more usable state than it used to be. It's a perfectly serviceable application for use in schools but it isn't the de facto "go to MIS" anymore. The market has opened up significantly and parts of SIMS are showing their age in the modern environment we have.

Dec 4, 2019 · We are a small MAT (1 secondary and 3 primaries), even so, the SIMS license alone was going to cost a few £1000 more than the Bromcom system, but bear in mind that Bromcom is cloud-based (we hosted SIMS in school) and has many modules included in the price that previously we had to pay for over and above the basic license.

Sep 21, 2016 · However, now that I accidentally redeployed to the server new installs seem to be working ok. I've just had a part timer come in who has a laptop so SIMS hadn't updated and solus client hadn't been installed, I installed the client using a domain admin account, then ran a new deployment for just her laptop and it installed pretty sharpish.

Will SIMS 8 be developed as cross-platform so it can be accessed on Windows, Linux, Mac or mobile? Please do not tell me you will require Windows-specific addons! 22nd July 2016, 11:33 AM #139
