Jul 26, 2010 · This paint protectant was nothing more than a very thin wax that was easily rubbed on and wiped off. I could do an entire car by myself in 20 minutes tops. What was unsaid was that after one trip through a high pressure car wash the paint protectant, assuming that it had not been washed off by rain already, was going down the drain at the car wash.

Jun 10, 2015 · My car has glasscoat. I want to get a full service wash at my local car wash for the chassis bath, etc. but it also includes wax. This might be a super stupid question, but will waxing my car on top of the glasscoat do anything to it or react in any way with it?

Claying, compounding all diminish the clear coat over time, and that’s the very thing we are trying to protect, through the use of wax, sealants, or coatings such as with Simoniz Glass Coat.

May 7, 2011 · Simonize is an old and established name in car care products, to the extent that “simonize” became almost a generic term many years ago for waxing a car. As Joseph said, there are countless similar products on the market now and all are good as long as they’re used. No product will work well if it’s only applied when the finish gets dull.

Sep 29, 2007 · Is it worth putting Perma Plate on a new car when the dealer (in this case, Toyota) charges $695 (which the dealers says is discounted from the regular $995)? Is this any better than a good occasional car waxing, and doesn’t the factory usually provide good basic finish protection? The dealer says Perma Plate protects virtually everything except paint chips caused by road pebbles, etc.
