The Sheffield has the same build as the pocket sill windows, but has a snap-in that is sloped instead of pocket. It is not a true sloped sill extrusion. Because of this, the window sill is very tall and raises the bottom sash way up high.

Feb 29, 2012 · Pocket sill are a definite design drawback in my opinion unless you have an impact window or a specific necessity for the higher DP. If you can't get to a DP50+ without a pocket sill, there is something wrong with the window.

Sometimes a level can’t be used because the opening is to far out of square. Then we use the reveals where the sash meets the sill pocket.

Obviously this is not ideal, and why pocket sill double hungs are highly discouraged, but it is pretty hard to avoid on sliders. If the weep holes are clear and unobstructed, it should be working as designed.

Yes, I've tried a couple of times pouring a generous amount of water into the sills, which then makes its way down into the pocket sill via side cut outs, and water then comes out the exterior weep holes. That said, hard to say if I am pouring in enough water to replicate a rain storm.
