
Seeburg 146, 147, 148 Trashcan - Victory Glass
The Seeburg 146, 147 and 148 jukeboxes, also know as the “Trashcan” jukeboxes were produced by Seeburg Corporation in the 1940s. They have a distinctive design with a rounded top resembling a trashcan. They feature a large curved glass window on the front, allowing a view of the rotating record mechanism and animated light displays.

Aug 10, 2022 · Between 1946-1948, Seeburg manufactured the Symphonola 146, 147 and 148. These jukeboxes were also called a “trash can jukebox”. These jukeboxes played 78 rpm records, which were standard for jukeboxes until 1949. In 1950, Seeburg launched the first commercial jukebox that played the newest technology at that time, the 45 rpm records.

Jun 7, 2015 · There never was a 45 Trashcan. Not uncommon then. But even the 78 versions do sound quite good, probably the best of that vintage. If you think this sounds good, hopefully you can hear a 1954 Seeburg Model R sometime or a G. Those were actually called "high fidelity" by Seeburg. Considered by many to be the best sounding record jukeboxes, period.
1947 Seeburg Symphonola 147 "Trash Can" Jukebox
Twenty records can fit inside the Symphonola 147. The jukebox makes use of Seeburg's original Select-O-Matic system, which lets users choose songs by pressing a number of buttons simultaneously. After that, the chosen record is automatically put onto the turntable and started playing through the jukebox's loud speakers.
