Sarah Ball (born Yorkshire, 1965) is a British artist living and working in Cornwall, UK. Her practice relies on the gathering of found source material from newspaper cuttings, archival photographs, Instagram and historical archives to create evocative contemporary portraits.

May 4, 2021 · Sarah Ball’s recent paintings generally depict people at a fateful juncture - but they do so at a distance. Over years, she’s pored over museum curios, Victorian taxidermy, collected objects and studio and police photography before recasting her sources, ‘creating new characters in imagines scenarios’, she says.
